Islands: Habitats & Food Chains

Identify the features of our local landscape and how they influence the variety of living things found there.

Your group will understand why animals live where they do. We’ll explore the topics of habitats and discuss what makes our local island habitats so different and exciting. Finally, your group will start to map out local food chains or webs, and understand how these can be disrupted by potential invaders. As well as crafting their own island showing what lives upon it.

This workshop is ideal to accompany a Rockpool Ramble or Seashore Explore workshop too, allowing children to explore real habitats onour surrounding coastline.

This workshop is targeted at the in P1-P7 but can be adapted to meet the needs of your group

We will happily adapt and modify workshops to suit your requirements.
