Rockpool Ramble

Rockpool Ramble

Children will begin by learning about some of the different species that can be found in the rockpools on the surrounding coastline. They’ll discover what they eat and how they are adapted to survive in this challenging habitat. They’ll then head outside to explore the rockpools for themselves. They’ll have time in different tidal zones, safely handling and releasing different creatures in an eco-friendly way and finding out which animals and plants live in each area, and why. Finally, the children will return into our Education Centre, The Hub, where they can look at shells and other specimens from the nearby coast.

We will happily adapt and modify workshops to suit your requirements.

Please refer to our Education Workshop Guide which lists Curriculum for Excellence experiences and outcomes for the 'Rockpool Ramble' workshop.
