Scottish Seabird Photography Competition - Exhibition

In Celebration of 25 Years of the Scottish Seabird Centre

Photography Exhibition

Scotland is home to internationally important seabird colonies, from the mighty gannets of the Bass Rock to the spectacular puffinries of St Kilda. Over 5 million seabirds breed around our shores each year; and wherever you are along Scotland’s coast the sight and sound of seabirds will be an integral part of your summer seaside experience.

Our 2025 Seabird Photography competition called upon amateur photographers of all ages to capture images that represent Scotland’s amazing seabirds. And you delivered!

This exhibition displays some of the best entries of each of Scotland’s breeding seabirds, including the judges’ overall winner, the judges’ under-18 winner, and each judges’ favourite image.

We were thrilled to have two very special judges on side to help us choose the winners; zoologist, wildlife TV presenter, author and our Seabird Ambassador Megan McCubbin; and Wildlife Photographer of the Year winner, Bird Photographer of the Year portfolio winner and seabird photographer Rachel Bigsby.

Now we need your help!

Our judges have chosen their winners, but the overall winner, taking home the grand prize of a space on a Bass Rock Landing Trip and £200 in Opticron vouchers, will be chosen by you!

Come along to our exhibition and vote for your favourite to help us decide.

The winner will be announced in February 2026.

The exhibition is open daily and is FREE to visit in our Boat Office exhibition space, please enter via the harbour entrance or ask one of our friendly team at the Information Desk and they can direct you.

This exhibition is supported by North Berwick Trust.
