About Pat Christie

A move to North Berwick in 2010 and the stunning local coastline inspired Pat's love of photography.

Pat had spent her early years growing up in Edinburgh, using all her spare time training hard in competitive swimming, eventually representing Scotland internationally in her late teens.

Leaving school, she joined the Civil Service, working in Local Government, then brought up her three daughters in Portobello, along with husband John, a professional musician.

Initially just snapping some local scenes for personal mementos after moving to her new home in the town, Pat soon discovered that she loved the process of finding and capturing beautiful images, and thinking that some of her pictures were 'quite nice', decided to share them on Facebook.

From there Pat was encouraged by the positive comments and feedback, realising that other people thought so too.

Armed only with a mobile phone, Pat is up with the larks most mornings, heading out along Milsey Bay before sunrise, to catch the sun coming over the horizon, and she loves the peaceful solitude of that special time before the town wakes up.

Pat's photographs are now regularly featured in the local East Lothian Courier, The Scotsman and even on the BBC, and her first Calendar produced in 2024 was a sellout.
