For a Clean Ocean - In Conversation with Rachael Z Miller

The Scottish Seabird Centre are delighted to host National Geographic Explorer and Inventor, Rachael Zoe Miller, for a discussion about her work to protect the ocean through expedition-based science, conservation and storytelling.

Rachael is the Founder of Rozalia Project for a Clean Ocean, a nonprofit addressing marine debris through cleanup, education, innovation and solutions-based research. Rachael is co-inventor/CEO of the Cora Ball, the world’s first microfiber-catching laundry ball, and coraclip’s sea life artist. She leads teams on expeditions whose results are published in journals and experiences translated into education programs that inspire thousands of people of all ages. Rachael shares her team’s work at events and conferences worldwide, captained the 60’ sailing research vessel, American Promise, certified hundreds of sailing instructors, trained Navy SEALS to find unexploded mines using underwater robots, pitched to audiences at Our Ocean and Plastics Europe and mentors young scientists at the New York Harbor School. She lives in Vermont, loves the snow as much as the sea and does her best thinking on skis, bikes, while wing foiling or on a surfski.

This event is most suitable for adults, teens and children 10+.
