Family events

All events are FREE for members, or included with admission to the Discovery Centre for non-members, unless otherwise stated. Entry to the Discovery Centre is £8.95 for adults, £4.95 for children and £6.95 for concessions. Family tickets are also available. Book tickets for the Discovery Centre in advance!

Please note, we reserve the right to make necessary changes to the events programme.

For safety reasons, children aged 15 years or under must be accompanied by a responsible person aged 18 or over at all times.

Every day at 12noon
Don't miss our NEW 3D film theatre experience and delve deeper into the marine world! Hosted daily in the Wildlife Theatre, the NEW 3D experience allows visitors to see a range of films throughout the year, which explore different marine environments and wildlife. The first looks at the life of whales and dolphins. This theatre experience is in addition to the 3D TV we have in the Flyway Tunnel. Tickets for the 3D experience should be requested on arrival at the Centre. Ideal for age 3+.

One Born in a Minute
Till end December, included with admission
It is seal pup season on the Isle of May! Every day seal pups are being born and over 2,500 will be born on the island between now and the end of December. Visitors to the Discovery Centre can zoom in on the seal pup action with the interactive live cameras - and for those who spot a seal pup being born, they will be awarded with their own seal adoption pack worth £30. Seal pups can pop out pretty fast - it is One Born in a Minute!

A photography exhibition by Daniel Doran and Tom Langlands. Taken over several years by two Scottish photographers with strong links to the Centre, this exhibition brings together a selection of images celebrating some of the many birds that can be seen around Scotland’s coastline. Photographed at many locations – including the Bass Rock and the Isle of May – this exhibition seeks to showcase the beauty of our coastal birdlife through high quality photographs. A percentage of all sales goes to the charity.
