Our new live streaming webcam and audio is beamed direct from the Bass Rock in the Firth of Forth, the world's largest single island gannet colony, described by Sir David Attenborough as "one of the wildlife wonders of the world". You can watch the gannets communicate through highly ritualised displays. "Gannet Speak" includes "sky pointing" = "I am about to fly off - you're in charge", "bowing" = "this is my nest" and "beak-fencing" = "you are my mate"- see Gannets for more information. Book your tickets in advance to experience this wonderful spectacle for yourself or find out about taking a boat trip to the islands.
See our Wildlife Film Highlights and our live wildlife webcams. Please note the camera is switched off after nightfall, so if you are logging on at this time, you'll find a blank screen. We are currently trialling an infra red camera for night-time viewing.
