How to Get Here

By Train

It makes sense to take the train to North Berwick. It's a pleasant 30 minute journey through attractive countryside. A direct and frequent service from Edinburgh and First ScotRail offers a fantastic deal - from £8.00 (adult) to include return travel and your admission to the Centre. The Centre is a pleasant 10 minute walk from the station. Follow the signs, keeping the sea on your left hand side.

NEW!!! Tourist Shuttle Bus - Free for Seabird Centre Visitors

A new Tourist Shuttle bus, No 111, has started running daily from North Berwick Train Station to the Scottish Seabird Centre, Tantallon Castle and the Museum of Flight, home of Concorde. The bus is free to visitors to the Seabird Centre who have bought the Seabird Saver combined Rail and Entry ticket. For visitors without this ticket, the bus costs from 80p upwards.

The bus stops at other key locations around North Berwick, so you can jump on and jump off and see a bit more of the attractive town and its individual shops and restaurants. Download our leaflet for more information and a timetable.

By Car

Only 25 miles / 40kms from the centre of Edinburgh. The Scottish Seabird Centre and North Berwick are signposted from the A1.

By Bus

Regular bus services operate from Edinburgh (service no 124/ X5 run by First Edinburgh 0870 6082608) from Haddington (no 121 run by First Edinburgh) and from Dunbar (no 120 run by Eve Coaches 01368 865500).

Free Parking! 

Follow the brown signs to the car park. The Centre is five minutes walk (see map above and follow black and gold wrought iron signs). Parking £1.20 per hour, refundable from your admission. There is a ticket machine in the Scottish Seabird Centre carpark . Show your ticket at the desk in the Centre and your parking fee will be deducted from your admission.
