Autumn and Spring Term
Climate change and seabirds – climate change is considered to be the greatest threat to the global environment, but what impacts will it have? Using the seabird populations of North Berwick as an example, come and investigate what may happen and learn what actions you can personally take to help reduce the effects.
Energy debates – fossil fuels are running out, but what are the alternatives? This investigative activity uses real-life scenarios to encourage students to think about how our energy needs can be provided for in the future.
Use our Discovery Guide to guide you around the Discovery Centre and learn about some of the familiar birds found around North Berwick. The cost is included in the admission price for groups.
Teacher Familiarisation Visits
We’re pleased to offer a free familiarisation visit to the Centre to help you plan your visit.
Make a day of It!
We can arrange whole day bookings in partnership with other local education providers. For instance, spend the morning at the Scottish Seabird Centre then use the afternoon to explore the seashore in a rockpool ramble or find out about the conservationist John Muir at John Muir’s Birthplace in Dunbar. Contact the Education Officer for more details.
